Beaches
Playa den Bossa beach is the longest in Ibiza. This golden sand beach is over 2km long. Towards the town area, the beach is good but not as lovely as towards the direction of most of the bigger and more pricey hotels in this area. The beach here is wider, has fewer rocks and gets less crowded generally. This area also has many popular (and expensive) beach clubs, like Coco Beach Ibiza, Tanit Beach Ibiza and Nassau Beach Club Ibiza.
From Playa d’en Bossa, you can also take a tourist boat to many nearby beaches if you want a change of scenery. These include Figueretes, Ses Salines, Es Cavallet, Formentera and Talamanca. So there is plenty of choice for just a few euros.
Where to stay in Playa d’en Bossa
Playa d’en Bossa is not that big, and since everything is close to the coastline, you never have to walk or take a taxi far to get to where you want to be. But to give you a bit of additional guidance on where to stay:
South: You will find most big and famous beach clubs, hotels and clubs here. These hotels are all almost right next to the airport. This means you can very quickly get there and can easily fly in for just a few days. It also means you might here some of the noise of planes landing and taking off but it does not seem to bother anyone here.
- Ushuaia: The biggest and most well know adults-only party hotel in Ibiza.
- Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza: Another famous party and entertainment hotel.
- Gran Palladium Palace Ibiza: Luxury all-inclusive holiday also suitable for families with small children.
North: This is the town area where everything is a bit more approachable and smaller scale, but this area has livelier streets at night, more restaurants and bars.
- Vibra Bossa Flow and other Vibra hotels in this area: The more budget-friendly hotels with great price /quality for this area of Ibiza.
- Migjorn Ibiza Suites & Spa: Luxury option with the best location in Playa d’en Bossa to have everything nearby.
Things to do in Playa d’en Bossa
- Beach clubs: Playa d’en Bossa has some of the most famous beach clubs in Ibiza, like Tanit, Nassau and Coco Beach Club.
- Watersports: Jetskiing and paddleboarding are very popular here, but you can do many others as well.
- Boat trips: A boat trip to Formentera, one of the nearby beaches or an all-inclusive party boat.
- Rooftop bars: There are many of these in the area. One of the best is the Ninth at the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. It is best to make a reservation. This is a great place to drink or eat in the evening.

Restaurants

There are also lots of kebab, burger and pizza places open all over the resort till the early morning for those who want to have something to eat after a wild night out.
Nightlife
Playa d’en Bossa together with San Antonio in Ibiza, are the two major party destinations on the island. Playa d’en Bossa is also generally the more pricey of the two with many of the best know clubs, DJ’s and parties. In general the nightlife in this area can be broken up in the following parts:
- Clubs: Ushuaia Ibiza and Hi Ibiza are the major clubs her with the biggest and most famous parties.
- Hotels: Many of the hotels have their own clubs and entertainment in the hotel aiming to please a party going crowed. While these can most of the time not be compared to the major clubs, they offer a good place to warm up before going out.
- Pere Matutes Noguera Avenua: This is the main strip in Playa d’en Bossa with many smaller bars and more budget friendly places near the town center. Most nights start of here for most before they move to one of the bigger clubs in the area. After the clubs close, many party goers also end up continuing the night here.
- Nightlclubs nearby: If this is still not enough there are many more big and famous nearby but outside of the Playa d’en Bossa area. These are nightclubs like Amsnesia and Privilige Ibiza. In the nearby Eivissa town you can also find the world famous Pacha’s and Lio Eivissa. Tickets and organised tours to these can be booked all over the resort.
It is important to know that many of the major parties, DJ’s and clubs take part in the high seasons that starts in ending of May or early June. Coming earlier to Playa d’en Bossa might offer better prices for accommodation but might leave you disappointed if you are here to get the true Ibiza nightlife experience.
Tickets: Tickets for many of the biggest parties and clubs in Ibiza are best booked well in advance as some of these sell out weeks or months in advance. Some people choose to just fly in to Ibiza for one or two of these major events.
Daytime parties
Playa d’en Bossa is well know for its party life in Ibiza but this is not only during the night. In the daytime there area also plenty of places have a party:
- Beach Clubs: These are a great place to start during the day and prepare for the nightlife. Many of these are also open till late in the evening or early night with a variety of parties and themed evenings. During daytime their resident Dj’s play relaxing chill-out music while towards the evening they turn more towards club music.
- Hotels: Many of the hotels in the area have pool parties during the daytime for their party loving guests. Most of these are for hotel guests only.
- Boat parties: Most boat parties cruise along the coast, taking you to a nice sunset setting or a secret beach, but the main focus is on the DJ and all-inclusive bar. A ticket often costs over 100 euro per person but with unlimited free drinks; this is pretty cheap for this area of Ibiza and Ibiza. Just know your limit!
Tip: Many daytime parties offer reduced-price tickets or combo deals for evening club entries. While this might seem like a good deal at first, it can be less interesting than you think. After a full night on a boat with all inclusive bar or a whole day drinking at a beach bar, you might be less inclined to use your nighttime tickets. Also often the tickets that are offered are the less popular and left over ones or are just their to promote the clubs they collaborate with.
Ibiza Airport to Playa den Bossa
- Public transport (1.65 €/pp): Great on a budget, but know that the bus stops far from the hotels. Often hundreds of meters or over one kilometre in some cases.
- Shuttle bus online (16.63 €/pp): Great option for solo travellers with drop off at your hotel and the best price for solo travellers if you arrive in the evenings.
- Taxi or minibus online (62.53 €): These taxis are your best option if you have small children and want them to have a child safety seat. If you have a lot of luggage or are travelling with more than 4 you can also choose the minibus option.
- Taxi at the airport (13.00 €): Base price for weekdays. The price will be higher for weekends, evenings, detours, traffic jams and roadworks. Great budget option for those travelling with maximum 4 people, not too much luggage and don’t need child safety seats for their children.

Playa d’en Bossa: When to go
Most people visit Playa d’en Bossa for its impressive and grand nightlife. This is best from June till September when everything is open. May and October are also good, but some of the bigger clubs might feel pretty empty at that time or might not even be open because there are generally fewer people on the island then.
If you are visiting Playa d’en Bossa in May or October, try at least to visit at the end of May or the start of October, as this makes a big difference to what will be open. These 2 months are also much more budget-friendly so they might be a good choice if you want to visit Playa d’en Bossa if you are on a budget and don’t want it to be too busy.
