When to stay where in Ibiza

- School holidays weeks are more expensive, so if you don’t need to go during these weeks it is best to avoid them.
Ibiza climate
The weather in Ibiza changes a lot throughout the year. July and August are the best months for hot and sunny weather. If you are going during the winter months the weather is still mild but with more rain.
Temperature
The hottest months in Ibiza are June, July, August and September but September gets more rain. So the best pool and beach weather are during June, July and August.

The sunniest days in Ibiza in June, July and August. Winter months get much less sunshine, especially December and January.
Rainfall and rainy days
June, July and August have the least rain in Ibiza. While other months have more rain it is important to see the full picture as most of this rainfall in the mountains towards the North of the island and away from the bigger holiday resorts. Also it gets less rain then other nearby islands because of its location.
While Ibiza has a similar amount of rainy days compared to other nearby islands, rainfall is generally light and not long-lasting. June, July and August have few rainy days. October, November, December and January have the most rainy days.
Sea temperature
The water temperature of the sea in Ibiza changes a lot during g the year. In July, August and September the weather is very warm. January, February, March, April and December the weather for most people will feel to cold for swimming but not for most kids.

January, February, March and April
- During these months you don’t really have sunny and warm beach weather. However a few days here and there, you can get lucky. But it can be unpredictable.
- During these months, most hotels, restaurants, bars, beach clusb and venues on the island are closed. Some more places might be open during school holidays but in general you will have the best experience in the bigger resorts where also locals live like Santa Eulalia, Figueretes and San Antonio.
- Holidays to Ibiza are really cheap during these months. Because of this they are very popular with people not looking for a beach holiday but digital nomads, culture enthusiast, budget holiday makers, hikers and bikers but also retirees staying here for several weeks or months
May
- This is the first month of the summer season in Ibiza. The water temperature is still chilly at this time of year, the weather in general starts to improve a lot. The weather is generally sunny and warm but some years the weather can be unpredictable. In the evenings it is best to have some warmer clothing.
- Do know that many hotels, restaurants and bars are just starting to open up in the beginning of May so if visiting one of the smaller resorts it is best to go in the second half of May to make sure things are open. Especially the bigger venues on the islands only open up at the ending of the month. Because of this , during the first 2 weeks of May, it is best to stick to the bigger resorts like Playa d’en Bossa, San Antonio, Figueretes and Santa Eulalia.
- This is a great month to find budget deals on the island.
June
- This is the month when the weather really starts to improve a lot, gets stable, has much less rain compared to the month before. You can expect to have good beach weather pretty much all days of the month. Also in the evenings it is generally warm.
- This is also the first month of the year that everything on the islands is open. Near the ending of June the island really starts to get more busy.
- Prices start to increase but are still manageable.
July and August
- July and August are the hottest summers month with almost no rainfall. The evenings are almost as hot as the daytimes.
- Everything on the island will be open and the biggest parties on the island are during these months.
- Do know these are also the most expensive months, very busy and crowded.
September
- September the weather starts to change a bit but temperatures still remain pretty similar to high season. Also the water temperature remains pretty much the same. Just you have a bit more chance of seeing some rain.
- Everything on the island is open as during the high season. The large crowds and busy scenes start to fade away.
- This is by far the best value for money month on Ibiza.
October
- In Ocotber the weather really starts to get worse. This is also the most reainy month of the year. But o know that much of this rain falls inland or in the North away from the bigger resorts on the islands, so this might not have much influence on your holiday as temperatures still remain warm.
- During this month, and especially during the last 2 weeks of October, a lot of things on the islands start to close especially the bigger venues. These last 2 weeks some of October the smaller resort can really start to feel empty.
- Especially for last minute bookers, this is a great month to find cheap budget holidays.
November and December
- Weather during these months can have nice and warm days but it is unpredictable and there will be many colder days that is far from pool and beach weather. For brave people, swimming is till possible on sunny days.
- Many hotels, venues, bars, beach clubs and restaurants close down for winter as there are far fewer tourists on the island.
- These months are not popular for people looking for a sunny beach holiday. Nature lovers, hikers, cyclists, retirees staying for several weeks or months and budget travelers love these months as it is much cheaper to visit Ibiza during these months.
