Cala Morell

Beaches

Cala Morell beach

The Playa Morell usually is not a too busy beach with lovely white sands. However, if for some reason you like beaches but don’t like all the sand stuck in your shoes, towel and clothes, there are some other good options here as well. You will also find several platforms you can sunbathe on and swim from directly into the sea on both sides of the beach.

Things to do

Some of the highlights of Cala Morell:

  • From the nearby harbor of Ciutadella, there leave many boats to go and explore the local coastline and beaches.
  • In Cala en Blanes nearby, you have a nice waterpark. It, however, is not big enough or has enough slides to appeal to older teenagers or adults but great for families with smaller children.
  • In the back of the resort, you will find the necropolis and caves of Cala Morell. It might offer a nice break to do in the hottest part of the day.

Here is my list of things to do in Menorca.

Menorca airport to Cala Morell

Cala Morell is on the other side of the island from the airport, 49 km away.

  • Taking public transport I would not advise as you will first have to take one to Mahon, then Ciutadella and then another one to Cala Morell.
  • A shuttle is a much more easy option and costs about the same as the price of the 3 public busses at 11 euros.
  • A taxi costs 61 euros but cost more on the weekends or evenings.

You can find the companies I would advise using and more info right here.

Is Cala Morell the right holiday destination for you?

Authentic white house and bar

There isn’t anything else in Cala Morell than a restaurant or two and the beach. So if you want peace, quiet and a non-touristy vibe, this might be the right holiday destination for you.

If you think this area is too quiet for you, look at my where to stay in Menorca guide for other options.
