Beaches
There are two beaches in Cala ‘n Bosch. On one side of the resort the Cala Son Xoriguer a bit more natural and pure beach.
You will find the Playa Cala ‘n Bosch more centrally located. This beach is a more family-friendly beach option. In between both of these, you will also find many mini beaches you can swim from and get a bit of privacy.
Best hotels in Cala en Bosch
There are many great hotels in Cala en Bosch. Especially for families, there are a lot of great choices here.
- Zafiro Menorca and Marsenses Paradise Club & Spa are in my opinion the best choice for a family holiday in this resort.
- If you are looking for an adults-only holiday then Lago Resort Menorca is a good choice for a modern more youthful, somewhat “Ibiza” style holiday here. Portblue La Quinta would be a better choice if you want a quiet, relaxed and upscale holiday.
- For a beach holiday in this resort, Carema Beach Menorca is the best choice.
Things to do in Cala ‘n Bosch
In the back of the resort, you will find the Aquarock Waterpark and Karting center. The waterpark is claimed to be the biggest in Menorca and while that could be true, it is hard to really compare it to other water parks in Menorca. Still, this waterpark is not a large waterpark. However, it makes for a fun day out for the family, especially if you have smaller kids. There are plenty of slides and things for small children. You can also go go-karting here but this is separate from the waterpark.
Nearby you will also find Ciutadella to explore for some local culture and you can take many boats from here to explore the coastline and some of the beautiful beaches in the area.

Restaurants, bars & nightlife
Most of the restaurants and bars are located in the little harbour area in the centre of the resort. You will find a pretty large variety here. From seafood to steakhouses to oriental and even a Burger King, you can find many choices and variety in Cala n Bosch. One of the more extensive selections of restaurants and bars of any of the holiday destinations in Menorca. So if you like to eat out, this is an ideal destination for you. There are some restaurants on the outside of the resort near Cala Son Xoriguer, but most of them are in the port area.
Also, there are many live shows here in the evening and nighttime, and most bars stay open till late. This nightlife is aimed at families, so don’t expect clubbing or loud music till early morning. This you will not find in many places on Menorca.
Menorca airport to Cala en Bosch
Cala en Bosch is furthest away from the airport. 54 km, to be exact.
- Taking public transport I would not advise as you will first have to take a bus to Mahon, then Ciutadella and then transfer onto another one to Cala en Bosch.
- A shuttle is a more easy option and costs about the same as the public bus at 11 euros.
- Taxi’s start at 67 euros but cost more on the weekends or evenings.
You can find more info and the companies I would advise using right here.
Is Cala en Bosch the right holiday destination for you?
Cala en Bosch is one of the more family-friendly resorts in Menorca, together with Cala en Blanes. When it comes to food options, it has a large variety. Also, there are some fun things to do with the kids like the waterpark, go-karting track and several beaches to discover. With everything located centrally in the resort and the whole area pretty flat, it is easy to get around. Only keep in mind it is a pretty far drive from the airport, one of the furthest ones on the island, about 45 minutes by taxi.
This area is perfect for families, but if you don’t think it is right for you, look at my where to stay in Menorca guide.
