Beaches
While Cala Santandria is technically a beach, it is also the name of one of the smaller holiday destinations in Menorca. This resort has a small beach with a beach restaurant and bar within a few meters of walking. So ideal for a relaxed beach holiday.
Hotels in Cala Santandria
When it comes to hotels in this area that I would advise there are two great ones:
- Hotel Unique Playa Santandria Menorca is a unique little hotel in the ideal location for a beach holiday. While the hotel pool ain’t the best in my opinion you can enjoy nice rooms and the hotels’ restaurant overlooking the beach.
- Prinsotel La Caleta is a more luxurious and upscale hotel in this area with some beautiful gardens and nice pools.
Cala Santandria to Ciutadella
The beach and resort of Cala Santandria are located about a 5-minute drive or 2,7 km drive away from the centre of Ciutadella. Ciutadella used to be the capital of Menorca but now has been replaced by Mahon. However, Ciutadella is still a very nice city and offers lots of culture, restaurants and bars.
Nightlife
If you are looking for active nightlife with late-night clubs, you won’t find this here. Instead, this is a resort in Menorca with no parties or late-night clubs.
Things to do
Some of the highlights in this specific area:
- Cala Santandria is very close to Ciutadella so definitely visit it if you are looking for some of the local culture.
- From nearby Ciutadella, there also leave many boats to explore the coast and some of the nearby beaches.
- Within a 10 minute drive, you will find 2 waterparks in Cala n bosch and Cala en Blanes. So if you are traveling with children definitely visit those.

Restaurants & bars
There aren’t many bars or restaurants here because the area is so tiny. However, if you want a more extensive choice, then the restaurants in the neighbouring resort of Cala Blanca are within easy walking distance. And as mentioned, in Ciutadella, there is a large selection as well. One excellent restaurant you definitely should try in this area overlooking the Cala Santandria bay and the beach is Cova Sa Nacra.
Is Cala Santandria the right holiday destination for you?
Cala Santandria is a tiny place. If you want a relaxed destination to go on holiday in Menorca and spend most of your days on the beach, then this is an excellent place for you. Just know that there isn’t much choice of restaurants and almost no nightlife whatsoever. However, Ciutadella is close by if you want a bit of a change.
