When to go where in Mallorca?

When to go where in Mallorca: green = good, orange = ok , red = for pensioners and sports only

In the image above, you find a quick overview of where it is best to go on holiday in Mallorca, depending on the month you are going. However, do know that this takes into consideration much more than just the weather.

November and December are generally not great months to visit Mallorca. The weather is cold and rainy except for some lovely sunny days here and there, but also many things on the islands are closed in this period.

January, February, March are also not advised for a beach holiday as the weather is much colder than during the summer months. However, many cyclists, runners and athletes still like these months because the weather is mostly dry. Mallorca in these months has very little traffic (as it does not have many tourists on it) and hotel accommodation is very cheap and provides ideal conditions for those who like to train. Also, retirees like these months as an extended stay in a hotel in these months are very cheap and offer a warmer climate than many other European countries around this time. These holidays are very popular with retirees from the colder countries in Europe, primarily Scandinavian ones. If you are going in these months, the resorts of Alcudia and Playa de Palma, as well as Mallorca’s capital Palma, are your best option.

June, July, August and September are the driest and hottest summer months and offer the best beach and pool holiday weather. They are also the busiest months on the island, with many families with children visiting the island in this period.

May and October also offer good weather and are cheaper than June, July, August and September on Mallorca. But the start of May and the end of October can have quite a lot of rainy days, but it is best to avoid these times. Also, during the start of May and the end of October, some things (bars, restaurants, excursions, attractions, hotels, clubs,…) on the islands might not be open yet or are starting to close down already because of the start and end of the summer season.

April could be a great month to find exceptional deals, especially outside of the Easter holidays. But the weather can be unpredictable, and much of the island will still be closed down. March can also be a good month for deals, but this is often not beach or pool weather yet. However, both months are generally quite sunny and mild and could make a great option to go and explore the island by car as roads are quiet and pretty empty in these months.
