Beaches
Santa Ponsa has one large white sandy beach right in the centre of the resort. Since this is in a bay most of the time, the waves are very shallow, so ideal for families with small kids.
One thing that is a little bit annoying is that this is one of the beaches in Mallorca with a road right next to it. Even tho you don’t notice it so much, it still takes away a bit of the relaxing beach vibe. If you want to do some snorkelling, there is a small walking trail on the right of the beach where you find little places to swim and explore on the rocks.
Hotels
The offer of hotels in Santa Ponsa is quite random. You can find pretty much everything here, from cheap budget accommodation to 5-star adults-only hotels. Because of this, is it also hard for me to advise any hotels. But if you want a quick summary:
- Fergus Style Cala Blanca Suites is great for a quiet family holiday with more or less its own private little beach next to it.
- For adults-only hotels I can definitely advise Sentido Fido Punta del Mar.
- On a higher budget and adults- only the Iberostar Selection Jardin del Sol Suites.
Nightlife
The nightlife in Santa Ponsa is very similar to that in Palma Nova. There are a few nice bars and pubs in Santa Ponsa that are open quite late, some lovely cocktail places and a few clubs. Since Magaluf is not too far away, I would advise visiting Magaluf one night if you want to do some serious clubbing. Santa Ponsa is pretty family-friendly and becomes pretty quiet after midnight.

Shopping
In Santa Ponsa, you will find many smaller stores selling holiday fashion and accessories spread out all over the area. There is also a little market but maybe not worth the visit depending on what you are looking for. You can find here mostly food items like fruit, vegetables and some locally produced cheese and meets. If you want to do some serious shopping, your best choice is Palma. You can quickly go there by bus in about half an hour. Routes change depending on the time of year, but they can easily be found in Google Maps.
How to get to Santa Ponsa
There is a direct bus line from the airport to Santa Ponsa without transferring first in Palma. This is a good option for getting from the airport (PMI) to Santa Ponsa if you haven’t prepared in advance. However, if you do book before online, the shuttle bus is better and the same price, but you will be guaranteed a seat on the bus (not in the case of the public bus).

Restaurants
For restaurants in Santa Ponsa, you will have plenty of variety. Ranging from fast food places to some excellent steakhouses. Unfortunately, there are no good restaurants next to the beach here. Still, if you go exploring a bit on the rocky areas next to the beach, you will find some nice restaurants next to the sea instead with a great setting and a brilliant sunset over the sea in this area.
Things to do near Santa Ponsa
Santa Ponsa does not have many things to do in the resort itself except for a wide array of water sports. If you want to visit a nice park or show nearby however you don’t have to go far as most are in Magaluf.
Western Water Park I can advise as it is the best water park in Mallorca. It is best to go on Saturdays as you will often find the least people and fewer lines in the park on that day. Also, in Magaluf, you will find the Pirates Show and Katmadu Park.
