Beaches
There is one vast and long beach in the Son Bou area. It is one of the more natural beaches in Menorca that is easy to reach. On the hotel side, the beach has some development with sun loungers, lifeguards and beach bars. However, away from the hotels, it is one large nature reserve. This is also the best place to snorkel as the beach and the sea here are untouched.
Best hotels in Son Bou
The only hotel I can advise here in Son Bou is the Royal Son Bou Family Club. It is one of the newest ones here and offers lots of pools and fun stuff for the entire family. This hotel is excellent for those with young children.
Nightlife
Even tho there aren’t many hotels here, there is still pretty active nightlife here. Not when it comes to clubbing or late nights, but if you want to have some cocktails or beers here till late in the evening, you can find many places for that here.
Restaurants & bars
Surrounding the hotels, there is a pretty large selection of restaurants, bars and shops. Also, on the beach, you will find two great places to eat overlooking the sea and beach.
Is Son Bou the right holiday destination for you?
This destination on Menorca is a pretty random place. Most of this area is residential real estate, but a small part of it is hotels. If you are booking and hotel here, pay good attention to where it is located as some are very high up against the hill or just in a very random location away from everything. If you book your hotel in the right place, everything like bars, restaurants, and shops is within easy walking distance.

Menorca airport to Son Bou
Son Bou is located 20 km from Menorca airport.
- If taking public tranport you will first have to detour to Mahon and from there take a 2nd bus to Son Bou. The price is 2.65 euros to Mahon and 2.55 euros to Son Bou.
- A shuttle is a more easy option but the price is a bit higher at 11 euros.
- Taxi’s start from 29 euro but get more pricey on the weekends or evenings.
