Talamanca, next to Ibiza Town, offers travellers a blend of relaxation and luxury. The beach is pretty long, ensuring it never feels too crowded, even on its busiest days. Flanked by a nature reserve, the ambience is one of tranquillity. The area has a few luxury hotels and eateries, with some catering to the local crowd at more reasonable prices.
Beaches
Talamaca beach is one of the more natural beaches in this area, located away from the big and busy Eivissa Town and harbour. With golden sands and a large nature reserve located next to it, it makes for a generally relaxing location. However, it is also a trendy beach, especially with yacht and sailboat owners who come here. What makes that it can get pretty busy, but because the beach is very long, generally, it never gets too crowded.
Next to the beach, you will find only a few luxury hotels and restaurants. But also restaurants catering to the local population who are reasonably priced.
If you are staying here and want to explore nearby beaches, use the City Boat service (a short walk away in the Botafoch Marina) that connects you to the nearby Figueretes beach, Playa d’en Bossa beach as well as many others.
Where to stay in Talamanca
Talamanca is a pretty small area, so the location of your hotel does not matter much. Here are some hotels you can book today and know for sure you made a great choice:
- Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay: Extremely luxurious
- Destino Pacha Ibiza: Luxurious with Pacha party vibes.
- Hotel Simbad Ibiza: Budget-friendly for this area and one of the best places for a beach and sea holiday in Ibiza.
Things to do in Talamanca
- Snorkelling: This area is excellent for snorkelling. If you want the best snorkelling and chances to see some exciting sealife, the Cala Roja is just a short walk away.
- Visit Eivissa (Ibiza Town): This can easily be reached by City Boat and offers much more to see and do, like many restaurants, nightlife, culture and Dalt Vila (Ibiza’s old town).
- Botafoch Marina: This is within walking distance or a short taxi ride away and has many upscale restaurants and boutiques.
- Fish Shack: This is one of the most authentic restaurants to try Ibiza’s fresh seafood. It is not cheap, but a great experience in a fantastic location. Know that it is best to reserve well in advance.
- Kayaking: If you go towards the east, there is quite a large untouched coastline. Great for exploring by kayak.
- Rent a boat: You can rent all types of boats here, with or without crew, license, captain or catering to fit everyone’s budget. It makes for a great day out.
- Nightlife: More about that further on this page.

Restaurants
All the restaurants here are directly next to the beach or sea. There are not many, but they offer a nice variety. From budget locals-friendly places to very pricy luxury restaurants for those staying in the nearby luxury hotels. If you stay for a week or more and want to eat at a different restaurant daily, this area offers little variety. However, you have Ibiza Town and the local marina with many more restaurants nearby. Both of these a short taxi or boat ride away.
Nightlife and parties
Most places here close before midnight. So if you like evenings with a few drinks next to the sea, this is a good place. One exception is Ocean Drive Sky Ba, open until around 1 to 2 in the morning and has an occasional DJ. For those who want a bit more active nightlife a few times during their holiday, that is also possible:
- A short taxi ride away, you have the famous Pachas nightclub for dancing the night away and the Lio Eivissa, offering a mix of dining, shows and club.
- On the other side of the marina, you have Eivissa, with many cocktail, lounge and music bars open till the early morning.
Ibiza airport to Talamanca
- Public transport (5.35 €/pp): Cheap but not a good option as a minimum of 2 buses are required to reach this destination.
- Shuttle bus online (16.63 €/pp): Best for solo travel.
- Taxi or minibus online (62.53 €): At first sight more expensive than the taxi at the airport, but if you need child safety seats, this is the only way. The minibus is excellent for those travelling with more than 4 people or those who have a lot of luggage.
- Taxi at the airport (19.00€): Cheap, but do know the price is only an estimate. The price will be higher during weekends, evenings, roadworks, traffic jams or detours. Maximum 4 people and not child safety seats.
You can find more about the public transport options here and here you can book a taxi, shuttle or minibus online.
Talamanca: When to go
Talamanca is best visited from half of May to the end of September, as these are the sunniest and warmest months. Ideal for a beach holiday. Also, this is when most of the clubs and nightlife nearby are most lively. Visiting during winter is generally not advised as the area will feel very abandoned, and it is better to book in nearby Eivissa then.
Is Talamanca the best holiday destination for you?
Talamanca is perfect for those seeking relaxation and luxury. If you’re a beach lover who enjoys a touch of sophistication and a relaxing setting, this is your place. The proximity to Eivissa town means culture, nightlife, and additional dining options are just a boat ride away.
If you’re looking for a destination with many activities and a bustling nightlife right at your doorstep, Talamanca might fall short. While it has its charm, it’s quieter than some might expect. Additionally, if you’re planning a longer stay and want a diverse dining experience daily, the limited number of restaurants might feel restrictive.
