Beaches
The Playa de Tarajalejo beach is a long grey and brownish sand beach with a long stretching promenade. Since this area is not very touristy, the beach rarely gets busy or crowded.
Best hotels in Tarajalejo
Tarajalejo is a pretty small area with few hotels. However, the R2 Bahia Playa here offers most of the year great value for money and lovely holidays for adults only.
Things to do in Tarajalejo
There is not much to do in Tarajalejo. If you want more than a beach and hotel holiday, my best advice is to hire a car so you can visit and see many things to do on the island.

Restaurants, bars and nightlife
Tarajalejo has very few restaurants and bars. Most of these offer local Spanish cuisine. For nightlife, there is nothing much here but a few restaurants and bars do stay open till late.
Fuerteventura airport to Tarajalejo
Tarajalejo is 50 km away from the airport of Fuerteventura. Therefore, to make your airport transfer easy, it is best to arrive well prepared at the airport and preferrable with pre-booked transportation.
- Public transport to Tarajalejo is possible, but many buses take many stops (sometimes over 20) and can take a long time to get there. If you want to do so, the price is 6.00 € per person.
- A shuttle bus will get you there but needs to be booked before arriving, costing 13.45 €.
- Reserving a taxi online before arriving has a fixed price of 88.75 €. Taking a taxi from the airport has a starting price of 52 € and will be more expensive at the weekend or evening.

Weather in Tarajalejo & when to go
Tarajalejo has good weather all year round compared to many other Spanish holiday destinations where winters are much more cold and more rainy. However, some months of the year the resort can feel empty and not lively because it is generally so quiet here. So if you want it to feel a bit more lively and have the best weather simultaneously, then June, July, August and September are the best months to go.

Tarajalejo is a lovely peaceful and quiet place taking its first steps towards tourism. However, it is still very far away from mass tourism. So if you enjoy authenticity but a little bit of comfort, then Tarajalejo is the best holiday destination for you in Fuerteventura.
